Every time I sit down to write, it feels so therapeutic.
I think it’s been a couple months since I last wrote. It’s been a busy summer!
Also, when I became a mom, it’s like time realllllllllly just gets away from me. I don’t know how it goes by SO fast.
Let’s see – what’s transpired since … omg I just went to look. I haven’t written since MARCH.
It’s been 5 months, lol.
I love having this space though. It really brings me back to MySpace. I really got tired of social media and the forms of posting mainly being photos and videos. Like, I want to talk. I have much more to share than just a visual of my life. I’d much rather connect with words than photos of highlights of our lives.
So having a space where I can just write about whatever I want or whatever may be on my mind at the time is so fun for me. Even if me and God are the only one who reads my words… it’s an outlet.
So, what has transpired since March?
My husband and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anni in June! We went to Savannah, Ga for the second time together. I used to go a good bit some years ago, and J and I had went once before we dated, but this time I really got to show him more of the city and places I love there.
We also now have a year and 9 month old.. like HOW?
Jensen is 3 months away from turning 2, and wowwww does that make me want to bawl.
He’s so big and smart and sweet – just the biggest blessing.
I hosted my bestie’s bridal shower, also threw my first market swap (with 24 girls!). 24 girlies all in my house for a spring, homemaker market. We had wonderful conversations, fellowship and got to go home with so many precious goodies. Celebrated my other bestie’s 30th birthday and got to welcome her new baby girl into the world. Got my girl Sophie married in WY, explored Grand Teton National park with her, her husband and also our dear friend Adam, our other best friends Courtney and Tanner(whom were their photographers), as well as the bride and groom’s immediate families. That was an amazing time.
OO, I also took a solo trip with Jensen. Well, solo as in Jason didn’t come with us. I decided one Sunday morning to load up my jeep with Jensen, a couple overnight bags and pick my Grandmommie up and head 10 hours to Florida. We met my mom down there and some other family and had a wonderful time. That trip was a testament that with a lot of faith and patience, you can make anything work and FUN as a mama.
Some other summer honorable mentions that led us to this day would include, visiting some of our family in the mountains, sunrise paddleboarding, husband wife tattoos, pool days in our backyard, horsebackriding in Idaho, pretty waterfall hikes, monthly book club meet ups with the girlies, Sunday fam dinners with my mom’s side, celebrated my sweet friend Chantelle’s bday, shooting my bow, lots of sticks and rocks and yard flowers Jensen gathered and would bring to mommy, walks around the neighborhood as a family including Riggins and Hudlow, dirty sodas, lots of time in the kitchen cooking and baking, tea time with some beautiful friends, getting my itch for a green thumb and planting some flowers and herbs, cutting them to have some pretty stems in the house, coffee shop dates, a fair amount of thrifting, lake days, fishing, and homemade pizza night.
It’s not all rainbows and butterflies though.
Our refridgerator went out, all our food spoiled, the real estate market has been EH.. to say the least lol. 2 of our new builds have sat on the market longer than we anticipated.
Some life updates that are currently in the works – we’re on the search for a church. We sort of have been for a while, but we are trusting in the Lord to guide us where He wants us. Something He’s taught me in the last few years is that it’s not about finding the BEST church, or that there’s only ONE good one. There are many great churches, but it’s more so about where God wants to use each of us. I believe He’s taught me we all have a part to play as His children and believers of Jesus and God’s word; so it’s about finding where He wants to use you. And when – another aspect to that He has taught me. There are seasons for life and lessons. Just because He brings yout to a church, doesn’t mean it’s the one He has in store for you forever.
Sooooo, we’re praying we find where He wants us soon.
ALSO – J and I have planned to split our time for years now and we are finally beginning to plan for it. Split time as in some of our time spent here in NC, other months spend our time elsewhere. Florida’s been our mind for the last 4 years. For those that don’t know, we actually traveled to FL for a 3 month trip in 2024 when our lease ended and we took advantage and went to scope out different beaches in Florida to see where we may want to split our time one day.
Plot twist to that story – we got pregnant our first week there hehehehe. However, we did end up figuring out where we’re leaning on buying a second property.
As of right now, we aren’t sure when it’ll happen. We’d love for it to be within the next year, we’d really love by the beginning of 2027. Well, honestly, we’d really really love for it to be tomorrow HA.
Right now, we are in the dreaming, and planning, and praying phase. We think we know where we want to go, but we want to make sure the Lord is blessing it and that we are looking to Him for His guidance.
More on that later.
For now, we are enjoying where we’re at.
No matter what location God has us in, our day to day principles remain.
We value our relationship with Jesus, cultivating a healthy, loving and fun marriage, a healthy, loving and fun home for our son and his childhood. Moving our bodies, fueling them with real food(still enjoying a soda from sipco and some chocolate when necessary), adequate time with friends, family and hobbies. Exploring, learning, enlightening oursevles on new to us information. Remaining curious to the Lord’s creation around us and all it has to offer.
Anyway, I could ramble on and on about that stuff to you.
Again, I love having this outlet. It’s so freeing.
If I show up on the internet at all, never again will it just be my life in snippets.
I’m tired of surface level. It bores me.
I like depth, raw, real people experiencing the realness of life and everything we face here in a fallen world.
So if I’m going to be apart of anything in the sphere of the virtual and soial media world, it has to be in a way that feels authentic to me.
I’ll never be a consumer of it again, if I’m apart of it, I have to be creating.
You guys may understand orrrrr may not, but that’s okay<3
Until next time, ily guys
